Susan K. Wilson D.D.S., dental surgeon, is a native of Columbus, Ohio. Educated in Columbus City Schools, Dr. Wilson attended Highland and Watkins Elementary, Beery Junior High, and graduated from Marion-Franklin High School in 1974. She attended Howard University and The Ohio State University receiving her Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees from The Ohio State University in 1978 and 1983, respectively.
Dr. Wilson is the first African-American female to open a private dental practice in Columbus, Ohio, and has been serving the Columbus area out of her East side office for over 30 years.
Her daughter, Maurina, is currently studying at The Ohio State University, College of Dentistry to become a dental surgeon, and will join Dr. Wilson at Hot Smile Dental in 2018. Maurina has been an integral part of the practice for several years, and continues to serve as office manager on a part-time basis. Dr. Wilson and Maurina are the first Black, female, mother and daughter legacy to study dental surgery at The Ohio State University, College of Dentistry.
